The annual Armistice Day service will take place at St Mary the Virgin Church, Battle, on November 10. The parade will assemble at Jempsons/Budgens car park at 10.15am before heading down the High Street to the church, led by Battle Town Band. The service will start at 11am and will be followed by a wreath laying. The parade will then return to the Jempsons/Budgens car park. Road closures will be in place as the parade takes place. On Monday November 11, a two minutes silence will take place on the Abbey Green. The Last Post will be sounded and Battel Bonfire Boyes will sounds a maroon. Other Royal British Legion branches across the district will hold similar services to remember the fallen. On Sunday, a parade will set off from the Bear Inn car park in Burwash at 10.45am. The parade will arrive at the village War Memorial for a Short Act of Remembrance, including the Last Post and Reveille, at 10.55am. A church service will follow at 11.05am. At 10.15am on Sunday, a parade will head off from Robertsbridge recreation ground to the church for a service. The parade will then head to the village War Memorial for a wreath laying at noon. On Monday there will be another wreath laying and two minutes silence at the memorial from 10.45am. In Hurst Green, the village RBL branch will hold a service in the village hall on Monday, starting at 11am.
