The supermarket chain plans to demolish the former Currys store at Tanbridge Retail Park in Albion Way and replace it with a new purpose-built Aldi store.
Planning permission was granted by Horsham District Council in November and now Aldi is seeking approval of ‘reserved matters’ – details of materials to be used in the construction of the new building.

Hide AdShoppers are already looking forward to the new store opening. Hundreds of letters of support for Aldi were sent to the council by local residents when the supermarket chain first applied for planning consent.
They maintained the store would increase consumer choice, provide local jobs and improve Horsham’s market town image.
Councillors granted approval despite planning officers recommending the application should be turned down saying the new building would be ‘overly dominant’ because of its design and proximity to Worthing Road.
