Jai Ho Horley continues best restaurant winning streak
Jai Ho, which occupies the historic Coppingham Arms in Balcombe Road between Horley and Crawley, was also named overall winner in the Restaurant of the Year category at the glitzy awards ceremony at the end of last month.
‘Jai Ho’ is an Indian and Hindu expression meaning ‘victory to you’ and the team made sure the eatery lived up to its name as they picked up the gongs for Overall and South East Service or Team of the Year 2016 for the second year running.

Hide AdThe awards have been running for five years and Jai Ho has held the regional title restaurant since 2013.
Sam Ahluwalia, who co-owns Jai Ho with Tessy Mehra said: “The basis behind it is high food standards and consistency. We have had the same team here for the past seven years. We started in 2009 and had our first award in 2013. It’s not a chain restaurant and it’s the only restaurant we have got.
“The team has stayed with us and we’ve grown from an organisation of seven people to 15 people now.
“We are the only restaurant at the awards who have been that consistent.”

Hide AdThe restaurant prides itself for its fine dining standard cuisine served in an informal setting. The kitchen team is led by Semwal and Natra Singh both of whom have experience in restaurants in Mumbai and London.
The English Curry Awards 2016 held in Manchester and were hosted by award winning comedian and actor Mani Liaqat.
As well as the awards ceremony, guests were treated to a special performance of a bollywood ballet by Desi Nach.
Yasmin Mahmood, operations director of event organisers Oceanic Consulting said: “To be amongst such passionate people who love what they do is truly inspiring. It was a fantastic evening and I would like to thank everyone for attending.
