Lively mix from Heather
While Heather’s children’s book illustrations remain light-hearted, childlike, quirky and vibrantly coloured, her personal work is much more thought provoking, drawing as it does from a deep well of childhood memories, of travels abroad, emotions and life experiences.
Also evident in Heather’s personal work is her life-long fascination with Britain in the 1930s and 1940s, influenced by childhood trips to her grandparent’s house in Wigan and stories from her parents, who were both young children (her father an evacuee) during the Second World War.
