Brassbandathon helps fundraise over 12 hours

Lancing Brass of the Royal British Legion, Chichester City Band, West Chiltington Silver Band, Spinnaker Brass, Hangleton Brass Band, Patcham Silver Band, Mid Sussex Brass Band and Mid Sussex Youth Band were among those to perform at the Brassbandathon.
A grand raffle with a variety of prizes was also held to help fundraise, including a MOT test, a radio, a family ticket to The Lavender Line, a voucher for Lancing Pet Suppliers, a game of golf for four people at Hill Barn Golf Club, fish and chips, cinema tickets, and cream tea for two.
There was also an art exhibition and face-painting.

Hide AdEven Pudsey Bear came along to help fundraise for the children’s charity.
Laura King, event organiser, said: “We’ve been doing these Brassbandathon events for four years now, and this year we saw the most people we’ve ever had visit to take part in the fundraising.
“We have raised around £1,600 so far, which is more than we’ve ever raised at this event before.
“It was a huge success, and we’re all really proud of how the event went.

Hide Ad“It was very hard work - even though the event was 12 hours long, the day was closer to 13 or 14 hours long because we had to set everything up and put it all away.
“However, it was worth it – it was a brilliant day.”
