FORD_ECO TOWN: Eco-town group to resume meetings
The committee, made up of volunteer councillors, is set to resume its sittings early in 2009.
It held a week of hearings last May and June at which its members quizzed witnesses on both sides of the eco-town argument.

Hide AdThe committee decided that the proposal was flawed. This decision was backed by all councillors and passed on that judgment to then housing minister Caroline Flint.
Arun wants to reconvene the committee to discuss the latest government documents about the matter and make new recommendations to all councillors.
A separate development strategy which the council is preparing indicates that a settlement the size of an eco-town at Ford is likely to be the least sustainable option for development in the district.
