Mixed reaction to GP surgeries exhibition
Richard Akhurst, 70, of Sea Road, East Preston, said: “We are being abandoned. We are going from East Preston to the other side of Littlehampton. I’m not in favour of this at all. I want to retain a surgery in East Preston. These plans seem to have been done for the benefit of the doctors, so they can be in one place rather than two separate surgeries.”
Ann Bull, 67, from Highdown Drive, Littlehampton, said she was concerned about what would happen to the old site in Fitzalan Road.

Carol Allen, 60, from Littlehampton, said: “It feels like we are being sold something. A lot of us want to see another hospital here, albeit smaller. These plans seem to be about cut-backs, which don’t appear to be for the benefit of the patients.”
David Moore, 74, from Willowhayne Avenue, East Preston, said: “I like the plan but it’s in the wrong place. You are not going to get people volunteering to take someone to a doctors’ surgery because they’re needed at all times. We have got a neighbour we take to the doctors and it takes about an hour to get her in the car, take her there, and get her back.”
