Cinema is family venue
I am a regular cinema-goer with my young son and his friends.
The cinema is a family venue, and to have what could potentially be a rowdy drinking establishment next door is ludicrous.

When we are queueing to see a film, or in that vicinity generally, we are likely to be confronted by the customers of the Tavern indulging in both activities.
The licence will permit drinking until 11pm, so coming out of the cinema following a later film will be particularly intimidating for myself and my son.
There already known issues in that area with anti-social behaviour – much of it drink-related.

I can only hope Arun councillors see sense and refuse it a licence.
I thought they had bought the cinema to save it, not to drive people away by this ill-judged decision.
