Our harbour must alwaysbe able to accommodate commercial traffic
Coastal traffic will become more and more attractive for the transportation of non-perishable goods, relieving the road system of countless long-distance lorries.
Railway Wharf would be an ideal unloading and distribution point for that purpose; one can only hope this is incorporated in any major plans for the future.

Hide AdIt would be sensible to look at the mistake of 50 years ago in making so much of the railway network redundant; with that demise, the resultant road traffic increase has blighted our air quality and necessitated the carving up of our countryside for more and more roads.
Littlehampton harbour must have a role to play in a sustainable future and be kept open to commercial traffic.
