Railway embankment blaze near Haywards Heath
Firefighters were called to a section of a railway line near Haywards Heath as the embankment cauight alight yesterday afternoon (Tuesday August 20).
The emergency service got the call just before 5pm and arrived at the scene, near Freshfield Lane.
Around 400 metres of embanksment were well alight.
The blaze was put out using hose reels, napsack sprayers and beaters.
