Schemes to help to care for the elderly, ill, and less fortunate are being launched.

A plan is in place to make Burgess Hill a dementia friendly town.

Town Mayor Anne Jones attended a meeting last Wednesday to launch the dementia friendly initiative.

“I hope something good will come out of this,” she said.

Minister of Sheddingdean Baptist Church Trevor Beckett explained how training listening skills helps supporting people living with dementia.

Rachel Beckett explained how training MetroBus staff makes life easier for passengers.

A carers information and support programme starts on November 11 in the Martlets Hall, Civic Way, Burgess Hill, aimed at family members and friends who support those diagnosed with dementia.
