Severe weather warnings for heavy rain and strong winds issued for Sussex

A miserable week of heavy rain could be in store for Sussex with severe wet weather warnings issued for four consecutive days.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for rain across the region from today (Monday January 12) to Thursday January 15, with heavy winds also expected on Wednesday and Thursday.

Persistent rain is forecast from Monday afternoon to Tuesday morning, while another spell of heavy rainfall is expected from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday morning.

Meanwhile gales or severe gales could hit the area on Wednesday and Thursday, with gusts of 50-60mph ‘likely quite widely through the warning area’.
