Sportsman's crusty contest
TENSION ran high in The Sportsman public house in Sackville Road on Sunday afternoon as its first-ever home-made pie competition took place.
The judges - Mr and Mrs Peter Wilby, and Andy Rimmer, of local cafe, No 48, Devonshire Road (pictured) - tried the pies for taste, content and texture before declaring a winner.
Their verdict eventually went to a chilli, cheese and beef pie created by Tom Craggs.
