A digger was damaged after it caught fire in Burgess Hill yesterday (Monday May 11).

Firefighters were called to the incident off Nye Road at about 12.50pm.

Two breathing apparatus and a hose reel were used to battle the fire.

Twenty per cent of the digger was damaged by flames and the fire was accidental, West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said.
