UPDATE: Road reopens following ambulance crash

The collision happened at the junction of Western Road with the A259 Brighton Road in Lancing at 12.43pm.
Police temporarily closed Western Road southbound and the eastbound carriageway of Brighton Road from Seamill Park Avenue, Lancing. The road has since been reopened.

Hide AdThe ambulance was on blue lights transporting a patient to hospital when the collision occurred. Its crew and patient were unhurt, and the patient has been transferred to another ambulance called to the scene.
An elderly woman driving the car was taken to hospital. Police have since confirmed her injuries are not too serious.
