'Credit to Brighton and Danny Welbeck' - Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Mason Greenwood reflect on another 'difficult' win over Albion

For the second time this season, United needed a late goal to seal three points against the resilient Seagulls. The hosts were behind at half-time, after their former striker Danny Welbeck came back to haunt them, but they responded well in the second-half. Two other academy graduates, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood, scored the decisive goals at Old Trafford. Speaking to BBC Sport, Solskjaer said: "It's always difficult to play Brighton. "We have had good results and we've had to earn them the hard way - we managed to find a way in the second half. "They defended very well. Five at the back is always hard to break down but we managed it in the end." The Manchester United manager was asked, in his post-match press conference, if he had to use Sir Alex Ferguson's infamous 'hairdryer treatment' to spark a reaction from his players. "Sometimes you raise your voice and sometimes you keep calm and composed," he answered. "Sometimes, it's louder than other times. You can get your message across by speaking slowly and not so loud. "It doesn't really matter what I did today. "What matters is we got half-time to talk things through." Mason Greenwood, meanwhile, said he and his teammates 'weren't worried' at half-time despite Brighton's good performance. "Credit to Brighton," he said. "They scored the first goal, defended well and held us off. We had to break them down and we did that eventually. "We knew we had the quality on the pitch. Everyone kept their heads. There's a lot to play for." Greenwood also spared a word for the Albion goalscorer. He said: "I remember [Danny Welbeck] as a United player. "He scored a lot of goals for United and he's still doing the same to this day so credit to him." Solskjaer added: "It's great to see Danny Welbeck back playing at his best. He could have had a fantastic career here at Manchester United. I'm happy it's worked out for him."
