Nostalgia / Brighton’s Bryan Wade will always be remembered for that moment of magic against Newcastle

Brighton have played Newcastle United just 24 times in their history, starting with a 3-0 FA Cup defeat at St James Park in 1930.

We just have the edge over all encounters, with 10 wins, five draws and nine defeats. Five of those wins have come away from home and Graham Potter will be hoping we extend that record on Saturday tea-time.

Any look back at games against The Magpies has to include the encounter at The Goldstone in January 1991. That season ended in disappointment for Albion, but for 27-year-old Bryan Wade, the new year game was unforgettable.
